They deserved this and the fourth place would have been extremely agonising.
The last 5 minutes seemed to go excruciatingly slow and perhaps seemed to be the longest in my life and a penalty corner in the last 6 seconds was nerve wracking. Yes sport does evoke lots of emotions in fans and you suddenly want nothing else but a victory. What an ecstatic day for Hockey aficionados and hope the resurgence and revival of our national game is here to stay and we move from strength to strength . Need to salute these men who made a comeback after getting trounced by the Aussies in the first match and signing off in glory from the Olympics after being behind . Hopefully this is the beginning of our rise to prominence again in the world of Hockey. Never have a bronze in a team event brought so much euphoria in the entire country. Let us also aspire to churn out more Olympians in a nation which only dreams of making children excellent academicians and other than cricket most sportsmen seem to be coming from very humble backgrounds For the skeptics who always ask why we get so few medals and still yearn for the elusive gold medal the answer is not a difficult one. Let us strive to create better systems and opportunities and sure we can produce many more champions who will captivate the entire nation.
