Orion is, without a doubt, one of the projects closest to my heart. I gave it my heart, soul, and every ounce of energy I had, especially while working through its mammoth documentation. Every deal closure brought an indescribable sense of satisfaction — from the smallest kiosks to the biggest hypermarkets and the multiplex deals.
Today, seeing the Mall bustling with people and actually watching a movie there opened the floodgates of memories.
I found myself transported back to the countless journeys, negotiations, and relentless hours that went into making those deals happen. Watching the movie brought back memories of travelling to Gurgaon to close the PVR deal — the marathon negotiations, the pressure, the persistence, and finally, the immense satisfaction of getting it across the line.
Walking into the Westside store took me back in time once again. I couldn’t help but reminisce about how we closed the Landmark, Westside and Star Bazaar deals in one go, through marathon, sleepless sessions at the Tata headquarters in Bandra Kurla Complex. Those were intense days, but they remain some of the most rewarding memories of my professional journey.
Orion is much more than a project to me. It is a bundle of complete emotion — a project that challenged me, shaped me, and gave me opportunities I could never have imagined, including the privilege of speaking about it on global platforms.
Some things in life are simply destined for you, even when you aren’t consciously aspiring for them. And when those opportunities come your way, you just need to recognise them, embrace them, and seize them.
I will always be immensely grateful that I was trusted with such a phenomenal project. Seeing Orion thrive today and become one of the most happening destinations in Bangalore fills me with immense pride and happiness.
Going back there felt like coming home.
Some projects become achievements.
Some become memories.
And a very few become a part of you.
Orion will always be one of those for me. ![]()
