It can be a women’s world after all. Well there may be a proverbial question as to why there is a need to celebrate all these dime a dozen days and why not make every other day special.
Women need to be pampered on few days and they can afford to pause and ponder about the path they have taken to get wherever they are. We have been lucky that our Company and our amazing HR team thinks the same way too and sparing us from the ever so unpopular term cost cutting measures. Need to salute all women who have chosen to break free from the cliched paths. Sure they comprehend that you need to come out of your comfort zone and ivory towers to achieve what you set out to do. Sure there are days when you fiercely fling your bags across your room and crash in the bed and you vent your angst against the next human who comes in your sight feeling that only you work so hard and the whole world seems to be on a beach holiday. The exotic holiday pics of other innumerable FB friends would not be helping our cause either. There would be quickly some family member reminding you that all your life you wanted to be an independent woman and refusing to be identified as somebody’s somebody and why you need to whine about swiping your own debit cards and not the card of your spouse. We will not endorse jokes or memes about wives swiping the cards of their spouse and waiting till dawn to shop for their wives. That sadly will never happen to working women.
Realisation would dawn that this is what you wanted to be and chose to be and prepare for the arduous journey the next day. For me the real freedom for a woman comes from the ability to take your own decisions in terms of education, career and when to get hitched etc. Emancipation of women is not about how high your skirt can be or how late you can knock the main door of your house. It is the freedom to do what you are passionate about and to explore, experience and discover life on your own terms. So nice to see lots of new age women thinking of settling down in a career first and pondering over whether they require men as their main course or desert just like a celebrity recently and jokingly commented. So to all the women out there no more guilt pangs or having to play out the eternal sacrificial lamb role. Go out and discover the world since it is one precious life. Make mistakes and gain experience. Of course after a tiring day we all more than need a loving family because you need someone to face all your rants and throw your tantrums because no one else in the world actually cares for you. The family is all you have despite them pretending to be your worst detractors at times. They are the ones who serve as antidotes for all your inadequacies and failures and make sure there is no void in your life despite professional accomplishments. So never fail to experience the challenge ridden professional world and the ever so complex and some times loving and sometimes dysfunctional personal world. The journey would be worth it and it would have been one hell of a ride with all the peaks and burroughs. Well on this day we need to thank all men who dont exactly expect their wife with the towel wrapped around and touch their feet and wake them up with piping hot coffee. For all you know these guys scurry out of their homes to get the morning milk so that their women rock in the board rooms. Bravo to the new age men rather. We need more of your clan.
