Wedding bells for my best friend’s son and sure we all felt extremely emotional and euphoric because we have seen them as toddlers and we also get a reality check that we would be soon entering the grand mother zones .
Finding that significant other in your life even in today’s time and age seems to be an important milestone which needs to be celebrated and cherished.
Sure having the right partner solves most of the problems in life in the sense it may not always be walking into the road of everlasting happiness but if things go right you always have that soul who is willing to face together with you the vagaries of life and the ever so difficult and unpredictable challenges life throws at you.
We wish the kids tons of patience as they navigate the difficult terrain. As the saying goes being truly loved by someone gives you all the strength to keep going and loving someone deeply gives you all the courage in the world to face the obstacles.

Somehow the institution of marriage never becomes redundant with all its myriad complications and challenges. Sure love is the only emotion that keeps everything going despite the complex dynamics in the institution of marriage and wonder how Oscar Wilde got it so right when he said that you don’t love a person for his looks or his clothes or his fancy cars but it is because they sing a song only you can hear .
It is ironical that as parents we are anxious about getting our children settled in marriage but that I feel is just the beginning and challenges continue .
Glad times have changed and the concept of the right age is slowly changing and it is all about finding the so called right partner and there is no right age after all. .
Glad to see more women wanting to settle in their career first and then choosing the partner next.
Despite all this marriage sure is a celebration for all of us and joy is unlimited when it is a great reunion of amazing friends and long lost relatives.
We shop till we drop for all the trinkets and accessories and all the delicate silks and ornaments which we carefully adorn.
Sure we try our hand at all the culinary spread blissfully oblivious of the calories.
Indian weddings are sure a delectable mix of fabulous food, mellifluous music , riot of colours,in the midst of our long lost favourite people paving the way to unlimited laughter and fun which we have somehow lost in the midst of our routine and mundane .
