Chennai as they say is all about culture, coffee and the coast lines.
Made sure during my visit for the 35 years School reunion I experienced all of this and more. ( Guess I must be as old as the hill but still refusing to believe so.) Generally my child like exuberance is still intact to enjoy all the finer nuances that life has to offer. After I left the city more than two decades ago what I still miss is the mystic marina and the constant chatter of all those who inhabit the place, the breathtaking churches around the less crowded besant nagar beach, the shop till you drop experience in the hustle and bustle of Pondy bazaar and all the over zealous and loquacious people especially the salesmen who always convince you to buy more than you had ever planned or needed. In most of the eateries too you find that there is all that cartload of care and the food connoisseur in you suddenly wakes up to embrace and relish what is in the offing. Definitely you soak in that warmth and you want to devour as if there is no tomorrow. Sure our diet plans can always wait and to be tossed by the window while in Chennai which has multifarious cuisines to offer. Meeting school buddies is always about conversations galore. Lovely to see them as successful professionals and it is a place where we are judged not for any professional or personal achievements but we are a bunch who resonate together in our thoughts and actions . Great that we stand united as years have rolled by and like in all groups there would be some extraordinary women who plan for the benefit of all and surprise us with some personalised and exquisite gifts every single time. Couldnt thank them enough. As always getting to routine after a small holiday can still be unsettling but I always ponder as to how time flies when we are surrounded by positive people and who shower appreciation on you for what you are and sans any judgment. Life for me was always about experiencing and collecting a treasure trove of memories and this would be one such experience as well. Until my next Au Revoir my beautiful people. Just missed to experience the euphoria of the new movie releases and sometimes feel no city in the world has such crazy fan following for the celluloid heroes and truly I think this time too was no different and watching FDFS despite the frenzy is the norm and glad that almost the entire city participates in such frenzy.
